Pre-Kindergarten Program

This program is a Kindergarten Readiness Program for children four years of age, or whose parents have chosen not to send their child to Kindergarten, or whose birthday is after December 31st of the school year, and are ready for a more structured learning environment. Our Readiness program includes computer learning, reading, handwriting, letter formation, with a focus on the sounds of the letters, blending, and much more. 

Daily Schedule
7:00-9:15
Greetings, free play, activity and manipulative toys, sewing cards, matching shapes, bead designs, sorting colors, arranging objects from a series of sizes (such as big to little, light to heavy) for cognitive perception and concept development. Puzzles, table games, block building, counting, identifying numbers, colors, letters, and letter formation, as well as computer time.
9:15-9:30
Clean-up.
9:30-10:15
Morning snack, clean-up, personal needs, bathroom.
10:15-10:45
Circle time! Preschool learning: lesson plan, music, singing, discussion of feelings, conversations, calendar, weather, seasons, stories, media and computer learning concepts. Dramatic play, kitchen corner, and sand and water play. Kindergarten readiness.
10:45-11:15
Creative activities, arts, crafts, cutting, pasting, and easel painting. Science and nature discoveries. Communicating, expressing new ideas, feelings, and developing communication skills through play; dramatic play, show and tell, and socialization.
11:15-11:45
Outside play: fresh air, climbing, bike riding, running, jumping, balancing, ball skills, obstacle courses, slide fun, and other activities for large motor development.
11:45-12:00
Clean-up, personal needs, bathroom and hand washing.
12:00-1:00
Lunch time, social, nutritional, and relaxing atmosphere.
1:00-3:00
Story time, rest time or quiet period.
3:00-3:15
Wake up, bathroom, quiet activities.
3:15-4:45
Afternoon snack and clean-up.
3:45-5:15
Afternoon activities: playground, organized games, motor activities, tumbling, creative movement, art, dance, musical instruments, rhyming games, dramatic play, friendship bonding, sharing, free play, small manipulative, computer time, learning concepts, analyzing and resolving conflicts through language communication.
5:15-6:00
Discussion, learning activities, building on each child's strengths through positive interaction. Clean-up, organize to go home.
